I've removed the dash panel around the HU and found no easy access to replace the bulbs for my Selectors; Fan Speed, Temp, Fan direction... All work fine, just can't see them in the dark.
Anyone have any experience fixing this type of problem?
I just did this a few weeks ago on my '01. If you took the trim piece off that surrounds the vents and control knobs you should see the access to the bulbs. Seems like there was a white piece that the wiring harnesses plugged into for the different control knobs and there is a small twist out type plug that holds the bulb connected to that. There should be 3 total. I would replace all 3 while you have it apart. There is also a green rubber cap on the bulb you would need to remove and install on the new bulb to give the dash the green light look.
Just call a Toyota dealer for the part number, I think I paid like 70 cents per bulb at the dealer. Be carefull not to tear the green cap also it woulda cost me 4 dollars a bulb if I cared.
