Default Dash lights not working...and all fuses are OK

So I installed the Sirius FM transmitter into my 2006 Tundra DC today, and while I was wiring into the factory JBL head unit I shorted out the dash lights and navigation dimmer (basically everything that turns on when you turn the lights on). I replaced fuse #45 (Panel 7.5A), which solved my navigation problem (it now switches to night mode when I turn the lights on). However, the dash lights are still dead, and I have tested every single other fuse with zero success.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there another relay/fuse that is hidden somewhere in the dash? Doesn't seem likely, but I'm out of ideas at this point. Any suggestions would be awesome.

I know this sounds obvious however don't forget to check the dash light dimmer control. It's the scroll wheel usually on the left side of the dash. slide rotate it up and down to see if that's the issue.

Well on my 07 I did something similar. Now I bet are trucks are different to some degree but in my case the same thing happened. My first stupid mistake was wiring up stuff with the battery conected, will NEVER do that again.

Turns out the short fried a relay that is in the insturment cluster, one that is also tied into the odometer, which makes things even more tricky (read expensive) Dealer had to order a new cluster, which has to be pre programed by the manufacturer (dealer can not do it) for your current mileage. This is what happened to me at least. They changed the cluster and its fine now.

I remember someone else doing this and it ended up being the dash dimmer control. Sorry but I don't remember what they paid to get it fixed. You might try a search and send a pm to whoever it was. Good luck.
