Default Need A Little Help With My Electrical System

Hey Guys, I Have A Quick Question. I'm Planning On Running Two Amps In My Truck. A 1.1000 And A 2.150. One For A Sub And One For Front Components.they Are Both Class D Amps (alpine Pdx) But I Guess My Main Question Is Do I Need To Upgrade My Electrical System Before I Do All This. I Can't Find Anywhere It Tells You What Is The Maximum Amount Of Power You Can Put On A Stock Electrical System.i Know I've Heard A Lot Of People Talk About The Big 3. Would I Need To Do Something Like This In My Case And If So Exactly How Do I Go About Doing It? Thanks In Advance. I Have A 2002 Tundra Ivan Stewart 4.7 V8 By The Way.

Your stock electrical system should handle your setup just fine. Be sure to use quality cables and wires and use the correct gauge power wire as stated in the AMP manual. Make your grounds as short as possible and avoid using seat bolts as ground points. Fuse everything and put your fuses as close to the battery as you can.

If interested in the Big 3 mod just Google it. There are tons of tutorials out there on how to do it.

I always hear about the rule to not use seatbelt bolts as ground, but I could never figure out why not; except for that you may compromise your seatbelt (i.e. loose bolt). Is that the only reason or is there an electrical/sound quality reason also?
