Default 07 Tundra Computer mods

Where is the 07 Toyota Tundra computer located and how can modifications be made to it? I'm wanting to know how I can modify the fuel richness mixture. I want to be able to make the richment leaner and NOT have the computer reset or undo what I set.

If this can't be modified, can the computer's ability to reajust fuel richness mixture be bypassed?

It 'aint like the old days were you can adjust a couple screws on the carb.!

Thanks!
Jim

Currently nothing is available to alter the air fuel or timing tables in the ECM itself, but there have been a few hints of upcoming products from third parties.

I see you live in California. Be wary of failing emissions inspections if you tamper with the richness. But go ahead at your own risk - if you fail the emissions inspections, don't complain, because you know you weren't supposed to do that.

Thanks! That is important advice, I don't want to fail emissions. What I'm trying to do is ad in a HHO (Hydrogen Gas Injection system). What this is suppose to do is 1) Improve emissions 2) Make the engine run about 50' cooler, and 3) (the best part) improve fuel economy!

The problem, I've read, is that the computer will sense icreased milage and further richen the mixture to put the milage back to what it typically is (14-15mpg). If I get the Hydrogen gas injection working right through the intake, milage should be improved, except the computer is apt to negate my efforts. I should still pass emissions, at least if I can stop the computer from further fuel enrichment.

Have a look at URD electronics. They have a device which intercepts and alters some of the sensors to alter the air fuel ratio. They work well on the Gen 1 but I have not heard of their use on the 5.7 yet.

jparker68...Good luck with HHO...it seems almost too good to be true. When you open the following link, there are other links there that show a HHO system in a Dodge Ram.

Thanks! This is the stuff I'm after. I will watch the videos. Any further knowledge or advice on how to make this work is apreciated! I'm going to test it in a classic car I have first since it's way simpler to start with.

Thanks! I checked out their site and emailed them my questions/idea. They seem to have a H2O & methenol injection system which I also asked them about. I'm sure I will be in touch w/ them. They look like a great resource just as you've been! Much thanks!

If you hear of anything further, please advise!

I think I found a source that sells a modified EFIE device that connects to the oxygen sensor that will allow fuel and performance modifications to work with out the factory device readjusting your improvements by increasing the fuel mixture richer therby decreasing milage & performance gains from the aftermarket device.

Here's the co. that sells it:
Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer (EFIE) Device [8543.90.6800] - $60.00 : Eagle-Research Store

It's suppose to be universal. This device (along w/ others) should help my Tundra get better performance and mileage.

Thanks for your help!

Hey guys, it's nice to see some 'pro-hho' guys here. I've been talking about HHO in another thread, and it seems that all they can do is bash it. Check out that thread, titled "Hydrogen supplement/water as fuel" it may help you, and you guys might be able to help me. Thanks!

Thanks for your support on Tundra Mods using HHO. My pace of getting projects done is a little slow. I'm starting out testing HHO on my '65 Chevelle. I figure it's much easier to tinker and I could do less damage if I screw something up.
I spent the weekend moving stuff around under the hood to make room and installing a carb. kit that's suppose to save gas.
Next weekend I hope to build the HHO system and the following install it. So, say in early July I should know how this HHO is going to fly. I will post my findings. Lord knows we need something to help us cut back on gas...$4.50/gal at the discount stations in CA. $5 by the end of June?

What your after is called a "split second" from URD. It intercepts the MAF signal and regenerates a modified signal. I've used these in the past on supercharged 4.7 engines with great results.
