I'm trying to find the keyless entry receiver on my 2002 Tundra SR5 Access Cab. I have purchased a new keyfob and I have instructions to program it...I just can't seem to find the receiver. Any know where it is located?

Any idea what the receiver looks like? I have looked up under the dash several times in that general area? Do I actually have to remove a piece of the dash to access the receiver? --thanks
I found the receiver...thanks Glenn. Next issue....With the key in the ON position, I press and hold the button (on the receiver) down for 3 seconds...after 3 seconds, 4 seconds, and even longer I never get any kind of signals. The instructions that I have are for a keyless entry system with a security light on the dash. I do not have this security light...however the keyfobs and receiver appear to be factory stuff (they have Toyota emblems all over them). When I press the button on my existing keyfob to lock/unlock the doors, the only light that comes on (it flashes) is the open door light (light looks like a car with open doors). Anyone know how to program a new keyfob on this system? After talking to Keylessride.com, they lead me to believe this isn't the normal setup.
2002 should have a variant of the RS3200 TDS System. Was there any markings on the ecu identifying rs3000 or rs32000? Did they provide you a VIP Programming Guide with the vehicle?
Uncertain if it is an RS3200 or RS3000. I will probably have to pull the box out to identify it (only 2 sides are easy to see and that's after I removed the lower section of the dash)... I did not receive a VIP Programming guide with the truck...it did not have any documentation...the truck was returned off of a lease and the person leasing it didn't turn in any of the documentation with it (and only one keyfob)...I just ordered an owner's manual last week...should be in next week...does the owner's manual contain the information you are asking about (VIP Programming guide)?
No the owners manual does not. Also, I looked at my copy of the RS3200 VIP manual (which is available to Club Members in the "Garage") and it does not contain instructions for programming an additional keyfob.
I do have the RS3000 programming instructions that do include instructions for adding a keyfob. However these instructions are based on having the full blown RS3000 package. These instructions are also available in the "Garage"
Bottom line is, unless it is known which system is in the truck, I can't really help. Also be aware that some trucks contain other systems depending on the distributor that processed the truck (most common if the truck came through SET or GST).
If there is a FCC # on the remote that will help identify. Also look at the enclosed image and see which fob yours look like.
It resembles the key fob in Figure 4 ....and the FCC ID is BAB237131-022. I found a webpage that briefly describes the different security systems...here's the link: http://www.toyota-hawaii.com/parts_1_401.asp Mine fits the description under V.I.P. Keyless Entry...unfortunately it doesn't specify the model number in the description...it just says that it can be upgraded to a VIP S1000.
Well FCC # is a security system manufactured by Fujitsu Ten Limited, but I was unable to access the detail file to determine the model designation or the programming instructions. I am at a dead end as far as what I can tell you.
I went to talk to my local Toyota dealership yesterday. I confirmed that I was trying to program the key fob the correct way. It appears that there might be a problem with the button on the receiver box...I will probably just wait a few months and replace the current keyless entry system with an aftermarket security system. Thanks again for your help Glenn
