I don't have air horns, but I mounted a gauge for my compressor on the lower dash. I came through the lower-left of the rear of the cab, in the corner where the rubber plug is, but that probably doesn't help you with your compressor mounted in the engine compartment. Had I mounted mine up front, I would have punched another hole in that big rubber grommet on the drivers side of the firewall.

Lower left rear of the cab. You mean behind the rear seat on the driver's side?
Actually, I would prefer to go through the firewall, but I already have a bunch of extra wires going through the grommet you mention. I could probably punch another wire through there, but not a 3/8-in. O.D. hose.
How feasible it would be to get another rubber grommet and make a new hole nearby the other one? Maybe use some of these types of grommets from Summit or these.

That would mean drilling at least a half-inch hole in the firewall, and I don't EVEN want to get into that...
I just finished my viair compressor install last weekend, ran the airline for the gauge through grommet in firewall, installed the gauge with compressor switch in center console below cig lighter and cup holder in 06 DC

I drilled a 1'' hole in my firewall for a solid rubber grommet with no problem. Had no choice since I couldn't get any thing else through the factory one.
Ya I would just drill through the firewall and use a grommet. They make a grommet for just this application even...Below is my 0 gauge for my stereo into the cab, but will be doing the same for my AirRide that is currently being installed, as I will have (3) gauges that will be in the cab.

Or you could use a transuducer for a digital guage read out,,, then all you'd have to get through the firewall is another wire or two.
True to that too..I had digital gauges on my Magnum to monitor air. They are unreliable IMO with false readings, and the sending units had to be replace on more than one occasion. I love me some digital, but I am going old school with my gauges this time for that reason.
