Default Why won't the cigarette power go off?

Hi all,

I have a new 2008 Tundra DC SR5. I recently bought one of those mounts for my iPod that plugs right into the cigarette lighter, has a flexible arm on it and a cradle for the iPod.

Anyway, at the bottom of the unit it has a few indicator lights. One shows that the unit is receiving power, another shows the iPod is being charged and the third shows that the iPod has full charge.

I have it plugged into the cigarette lighter on the front passenger side. When I turn off the engine and remove the key, the first light remains on leading me to believe that there is still power constantly being sent to the unit. Why is this? Am I missing something obvious? I'm thinking although it's a small draw it could drain the battery especially if the truck sits for a few days. Yes, I could unplug the mount each time but this defeats the purpose of having a convenient mount.

Thanks.

The accessory outlet on the passengers side and the rear cup holder stay powered on for about 2 hrs after you shut off the ignition...The one on the drivers side goes on and off with the ignition. You can keep things with a small amount of draw plugged into the ones that stay on (i.e cell chargers).

Thanks for the info. I was wondering the same thing myself.

It's actually a subtle cool feature. I did look in the truck manual before I posted this and didn't see that written anywhere. I could have missed it.
