Hey kids, I just bought a 2000 Toyota
Tundra
and it came equipped with an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry system. The keyfob that came with the truck has seen better days so I ordered a replacement one (matched the FCC ID# on the old keyfob with the new one I ordered). The new keyfob came with 'programming instructions' but I can't seem to get it to be recognized by my vehicle.
Both of the keyfobs are 4-button. Although on the 'current' one the AUX button doesn't seem to do anything. The lock, unlock and panic buttons do work and do what they're supposed to however.
The truck has a 'valet switch' and I think I'm following the directions right, but am having no luck in getting the new keyfob to be recognized. Although the 'switch' isn't a button but a metal toggle switch; not sure if that matters or not. The old one still works fine though. Is there anywhere that can help out with this? I thought of Car Toys, but I don't know how reliable they are and I don't want to get reemed on labor for what seems to be a 5 minute job.
Anyone here have any experience with this kind of stuff? Any comments are much appreciated.
