Default '00 Tundra Backup Camera Install

Is it possible to install a backup camera in a 2000 Tundra and have it look OEM? I'm not really keen on those kits that attach to your license plate and then you've got a goofy little 3.5" monitor up in the cab. I've seen a few people with install info on '07s and whatnot for the tailgate latch camera and flip-down monitor. I know that the '00s didn't have this as an option and aren't wired for it; I just am curious if it could be done and for how much money/time/aggravation.

Thanks!

I'm sure you could fab up a mount for the newer style display. I would think a head unit display would be easier, but not cheaper.
There are several cameras out there and mount in different locations. Find the one that looks best to you. you will have to wire it all up custom as you don't have the wiring.
I plan on adding an aftermarket setup to my 08 as it doesn't have the wiring so the factory unit is out. I will go with a display that I can repurpose so it won't look factory.
You could also get the new taco interior mirror and wire that up. I test drove one and though it looked cool but I want a bigger display

Thanks for the reply, I just ended up getting a Pioneer AVHP4100 DVD head unit and purchased a Boyo 350 license plate cam. While the head unit is working great, the plate cam is a project for this weekend. Does anyone have any experience or advise with hooking this up on a 2000 Tundra?
