Default Headlights staying on.

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I stumbled upon this site because Im having problems with my 05 Tundra.
I bought this usa truck from a dealership in Vancouver,BC in Nov./08.
Since I have had this truck its been to the dealership 14 times! The problem is the headlights are going on themselves. In the mornings when I get up to go to work, I am greeted with a dead battery. Sometimes after driving the lights will stay on and the power door locks will stop working.
When I bought this truck, I bought the extended warrant thinking just in case something happens.
The dealership has always givin me a courtesy car and has been really good. But they have no clue as to what the problem is and want to buy the car back from me.
I really love this truck, and would just like to see the problem fixed. If anyone has any suggestions, It would be appreciated.
Thanks,Brian.

my guess would be that you have a short somewhere on truck where maybe a wire got pinched maybe within the door lock wiring since that stops working at times, just a guess though. if that is the case it will be a real pain to find unless you get lucky. my dads envoy had about the same problem and found a pinched wire within the trailer harness fixed it an no more dead battery's. good luck.

If you like the truck, I would tell them to keep trying until it is fixed. They will most likely have to replace a wiring harness to solve the problem. Another alternative would be to have them find you a truck with similar or better features and the same or lower miles and an even trade.

If they haven't replaced the light switch by now, you may want to try someone who knows what they are doing. The harness is the next culprit. I'd open every connector and clean the contacts.

I'd disconnect the DRL and see if that helps. Its the connector behind the battery, it's really down in there so you'll have to move the battery.

06 tundra with same issue. Headlights come on without switch being on and no provocation by keyless lock. May happen once a day or every half hour. disconnect of battery only solution at this time. Dealer states never heard of problem, refer him to this web site.

Also have US truck with same problem. Dealer installed aftermarket relay for DRL's and did not go through stock wiring. They replaced the relay and no problems since. Not sure if your DRL's are stock or external relay but hope that helps.
