Unhappy 07'-09' Tundra Electrical Changes?

I talked to a guy at an aftermarket shop today and he said
the electrical system was changed between the 07'-08' vs the 09' Tundra's
and that the installs they were able to do previously they are
unable to do on the newer truck due to something like 5 separate
ECU's that throw all kinds of lights (even when just probed for power).
He said they were putting power steps on an 09' and it blew an ECU and had to go back to the dealership to be completely reprogrammed.
Any truth to this?
Thanks.

That guy must have not known how to install. The electrical system are a bit different year to year but if you know how to do things, then it's no big deal.
Installing power steps on a 00-09 Tundra is the same from year to year. You just have to know which wires to use or NOT to use.
It's just like the TRUSPEED speedo recalibrator. I have installed them on various tundras thru 09 and many other Toyotas, even tho the instructions say it cant be done.
You just need to find someone who knows what they are doing.. The power steps need to have DIODES installed in the "DOOR OPEN" signal wire or it will backfeed and cause problems.
Good Luck

That's what I thought. Some things are common sense
and what I was hearing didn't sound like it. Thanks.
