Default On Board Air

Took the time last night to relocate my fuse box and hard mount my air compressor (OBA).

The fuse block (from Blue Sea) was loosely mounted near the air box after removing the AEM brute force intake. The block was mounted to the heat shield. With not having ABS, the area above the air box was the best place for me to mount the block and OBA. Ran new 8ga stranded wire from the battery to the block. Had to use white for the negative connection as the local shop ran out of black. Once that was complete, I removed some slack from the aux light wiring, then wired up the OBA. For those with ABS on their 1 gen tundra, you'll need to find another location.

The OBA is one of those MV50 compressors from Pepboys or costco that cost about $50. I used one of the mounting bolts for the PS res. mount and drilled through the fender to mount the other end of the OBA. The switch is located on the unit not visible in the pic. Also, replaced the cheap intake that is used and replaced it with one of the those valve breather intakes. Here's a pic.

Default Re: On Board Air

I mounted a Puma unit (from ebay) on a '01 Jeep Wrangler I had. took a bit of doing but I was really happy with it.

Would like to set one up on my Tundra someday. You'll be glad you did. Mine came in handy more than once.
