Default Phantom Break Lights. Help!

I have a 2000 4X4 Access cab with 94k miles that has been a great truck so far. However, my brake lights mysteriously come on at random times throughout the day or night when the truck is parked. At first it didn't bother me but the other day my battery was dead. The battery is new and I have checked all of the wires and such so I know the connection is good. What could possibly be activating the brake lights when the truck is off at random intervals?

Pat

Default Re: Phantom Break Lights. Help!

Corroded bulb connections or housings. My motorhome had similar problems. disabled the turn signals and cruise control. Cleaned up the contacts and put some contact lube and new bulbs. Voila, problem dissapeared.
