Default DIY LED Resistor INSTALLATION brake lights

Please find the attached link to a complete pdf of how to do it yourself. I took seemingly endless threads and pages as well as great pics from other board members - SNOOP had the most pictures.

I am ready to start doing some of these wonderful modifications that will compliment the truck and instead of taking hours while doing the work, I prefer a simply print and use pdf with step by step, monkey-proof pictures to aid in my project.

I am brand new to Tundra and this forum and thought that before I "take" that I would first "contribute" and will continue to do so, when time permits. I am currently working on an V-LED fitment and recommendation list for both the Double Cab and Crew Max.

Anyways, enjoy.

Default Re: DIY LED Resistor INSTALLATION brake lights

Great detailed write-up. When I installed mine, I noticed that the resistor gets REALLY HOT, just like the warnings, but more than I thought they would. I mounted my resistor horizontally, vice vertically and wire tied the the leads together to prevent the leads from touching the resistor. Finally, to add some circulation, I put small washers between the resistors and the truck surface. I was afraid the heat would melt melt the plastic and cause a short.... I'm probably too woried about those kinds of things. Check my album for a pic of my install.... I didn't want to hijack your thread anymore than I've already done so I didn't post a pic here......

Finally, I sealed up the front and back of the hole with some clear RTV sealant to reduce rust issues.....
