Electrical & Computer SystemsDetails discussions regarding electrical components, wiring, all lighting, wire harnesses and HID conversion for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "hyper ground wiring", within the Electrical & Computer Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
All that system does is replace the ground straps and ground to chassis wires in your engine bay.
Just remember, they only have to increase those stated areas by the slightest amount to not be lying. Also, the fact that they don't quantify the hp and efficency increase leaves me a little skeptical.
Replaceing the ground from the battery to the chassis is really not a bad idea. Do you need to spend 140$...I doubt it. You can do all that system is doing for probably a half or third with any larger awg wire and good crimps.
using this grounding system supposed to increase the hp, torque, gas mileage, quiet the engine.
Thanks for the link. I have no idea of how this would produce the improvemets they claim.
You can find larger wire in the TS store, electronics section, streetwires amplifier wiring kits.
Another option is to measure the existing wires on your truck: 1) Battery - to chasis, 2) battery + to alternator + and 3) engine block to chasis (near the firewall), then take these measurements to a welding supply store and have them fabricate the lengths needed with the crimp terminals installed. 4 ga. wire is under $1 per foot at my local welding supply.
Concerning grounding kits:
I was at the Carson meet and noticed quite a few of the Lexus guys had grounding kits installed. Upon inquiry, I found out that ES300’s do have inadequate grounding and with these kits their stereos (by their estimation) had a noticeable drop in the noise floor and removed some erratic behavior in their fuel injection. Now that doesn't mean that we have those issues but I think that's where the idea came from.
