You are correct. For vehicles like yours with DRL's, the complete fog light mod is (2) parts.

Part 1, like you did, allows you to turn the fog lights on exactly as you describe- in any configuration EXCEPT with high beams.

If you do one of the Part 2 options, that allows the fogs to stay on when you flip to high beams. Basically, Part 2 provides the fog relay coil with a +12V source that stays hot even with the high beam on.

The "How-to" link for the fog light mod WITH DRL in this forum should work. There is an explanation of how the mod works buried in all the text and photos.

I have read about some of the issues people have encountered with the NON-DRL fog light mod. As it is documented, the mod instructs you to get the +12V for the fog relay coil off the dash illumination circuit, to which the rheostat for adjusting the intensity of the dash lights is connected. I am not sure what is going on there, other than to tell people who are experiencing that trouble to find a different +12V source.

It seems to me that there was a different and easier fog light mod. I remeber when I did mine there was only one wire to splice and ground. I though it was the green/black one.

My fog lights can be switched on with no parking lights or with parking lights or with headlights. The dimmer dial has no affect on the no matter what. and the light switch light is on no matter if the lights are on or off.

Are there two differnt mods, Also I have the DRL unpluged.

Is there a mod that allows me when I press the unlock button on the key fobs that turns on the fog lights or the small round light (that already blinks) but I'd like them to stay on when the truck is locked/unlocked? I know GM trucks/cars/SUVs turn on fog lights or parking lights and its a nice feature especially in the dark. WHat I'm trying to say is that just like how the 3rd brake light stays on when you unlock the truck or open the doors, I want that same thing for the front of the truck.

I tapped into the cargo light circuit. It comes on and stays on when I press the button on the remote. Now I wired mine to a set of lights that light up around the door, but I bet you could wire it up to some lights up front too. I used a relay for the power to my lights.

I used led lights under the edge of the cab for my step bars & they also throw a good deal of light around the truck.

How did you do the wiring? By the way, those lights underneath look great. I thought they were initially the sun coming back from the truck... I don't know where I thought that up from, but oh well. Can anyone explain if the parking lights can be set as always on when the truck is on and if so, instructions on doing that, pretty much making them DRLs?
