There's no annoying or dangerous glare when I converted my factory housings to HID. The headlights did though.

I talked to a guy at Sylvania about the HID systems @ the LA Auto Show, ( shocked that I knew more about HID kits that he did ) and he said with enough interest the Tundra kit will come out.

None of the HID conversions are street legal. I want the Xenarc foglamps to supplement my stock headlamps. I don't want to "convert" to HID. The stock housings are not beam pattern corrected for HID and create annoying and dangerous glare. The Xenarcs are street legal. Ford and Chevy guys can replace their stock factory housings with Sylvania kits (which include oem headlamp housings, bulbs and ballasts) and are street legal. Maybe someday Sylvania will design housings for the Tundra but its highly unlikely.

TundraMan,
Have you seen these:
http://www.fet-usa.com/products/zeta.html
I don't think they are true HIDs, but with these you don't have to replace the light housing, just the bulb. And with these you could do both the headlights and the foglights for about the same price as the Sylvania.
Just a thought.

Tundraman-
Before you decide to replace the foglights with Xenarcs, you should consider doing a true HID conversion to the stock ones.
I converted mine to true HID and really like the results. Spots the low beams miss are now illuminated, and the beam is actually wider than the headlights. With the Xenarcs you get the same results, they weren't designed to take the place of your low beams, just augment them.

They have U shaped brackets that are designed to fit under or above the bumper. Physically they are a bit smaller than the bumper openings. Something tells me they need a custom bracket made to adapt to the studs. If I purchase them and can make it happen i'll let you all know. Thanks for the help.

TundraMan,
I know the answer to this one, because I added the factory fogs after I bought the truck. They install from behind. There are 3 nuts that hold the whole lamp holder assembly onto studs that are permanently attached to the bumper. Take off these 3 nuts and the whole assembly drops out from behind.
Peice of cake.

can't remember, i had to remove them to install my strobe lights. there are 2 or 3 10mm nuts holding them in, you don't have to remove the bumper for this. remove from the back.

Do the Tundra factory foglamps pull out from behind the bumper or from the front?? I was thinking of installing the Sylvania/Osram HID foglamps Click here to view Sylvania's Xenarc foglamps! . I have the Ivan Stuart bumper cover and if I have to remove the foglamps from the front I need to remove the bumper cover in order to remove the foglamp units. If it involves removing the bumper cover i'm gonna forget the whole idea. It was a total pain to put the bumper cover on to start with. Please let me know if anyone has any answers. Thanks in advance.
