I've haven't tested to if this happens on my 2000.

But I do like quirk that if you leave the button on, the fog lamps flash with the alarm.

I also like the fact Toyota design the headlights and parking lamps so they can't be left on accidentally if you forgot to turn then off.

WHEN THE DASH LIGHTS ARE TURNED DOWN LOW, THE FOG LIGHT SWITCH WILL NOT TURN THE LIGHTS ON OR OFF. THE SECOND THING IS THAT THE LIGHT SWITCH ITSELF ILLUMINATES WHEN THE SWITCH IS ON BUT NOT WHEN THE SWITCH IS OFF. LAST, THE SWITCH ILLUMINATES WHEN YOU TURN THE DASH LIGHTS DOWN LOW, BUT WHEN YOU TURN THEM UP THE SWITCH LIGHT GOES OUT. ANYBODY ELSE NOTICED THIS? I DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECKED THE WIRING. IT IS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM, JUST AN INTERESTING QUIRK.

Hmmm interesting.

1. dash lights turned down low - yep thats the way it is because of where the NEW power source is coming from.

2. light on/off - that one is logical, and is set up correctly. You turn on the light, the switch light SHOULD come on to show you they are turned on.

3. I don't have that problem with mine. If switch is on then light is on. But hey I always have my dash lights turned on bright and mine stays on. Not sure about yours.
