Angry Alarm sounding when key used

This is mighty strange:
When I lock my door from inside and re-enter with the key, no problem.
When I lock my door with the Remote, and re-enter with the key, the alarm goes off, and have to use the remote to disable.

Is this normal. Can it be disabled. I should be able to use my key regardless of how I locked the vehicle?

Glenn ever so kindly pointed me to the owner's manual for the alarm systems just a few days ago. Assuming you have the same alarm system as I do:
1) Yes that's normal
2) If you open with the key (not the remote) and the alarm goes off, put the key in the ignition and perform the following key turning routine to turn the alarm off.

On-acc-on (not start, just on)

I think that oughta do you unixguru.

The reason the alarm is going off is because you turned it on with the remote and didnt turn if off before you opened the door. Turning the key in the door does not turn off the alarm only the remote does.

Abs,
I understand how to disarm the alarm with the remote.....
the original problem I stated was that the alarm would "go off" if I tried to open the door with the key after locking it with the remote.

The last reply was to solve the problem using the key in the ignition sequence after the alarm went off.

If your system has Passive Arming enabled, then the scenerio can occur that the system arms itself without you actively arming it.
