Default Truck cap/3rd. brake light question?

If you have a truck cap with the "third brake light", can you tell me how they ran the wires to tap off of the rear tail light? Did they need to drill any holes?
Thanks

Mine was tapped into the left brake light.

There's a little 1/2" hole in the rear of the bed that is located 3" from the top of the bed and 7" from the rear. Take your left tail light out and run the topper light wires through this hole and work the wires through towards the tail light area. Use a 12V light probe to find the stop light wire and splice into it. If your topper wire is routed to the right side do the same thing.

Yep, thats how they ran mine as well. Also they ran a hot wire to battery to run the inside canopy dome light if you got that option. Just outside the opening where the hole is, is where there "should" be a plug, so if you remove the cap its one simple plug and 4-6 clamps and it's off.

They should not need to drill any holes!
