Default Cruise Control Mod?

Looks like they fixed the cruise control for 2004 (doesn't lose it's memory after you've come to a stop and let's you resume after). Anyone know of a mod to do this for 2003's (and earlier)? I know this sounds minor but it's a constant reminder of something Toyota didn't quite get right.....and getting reminded twice a day is really getting annoying.

My '92 Eclipse had a smarter cruise control than my '03 Tundra. Glad to hear Toyota finally got a better system for '04.

Default I called a couple dealers

No body seems to know of one yet. You could always try the swap an '04 for the '03 mod, shouldn't cost more than 7 grand or so . It drives me nuts everytime! I pulled over to re-read my manual the first longer trip I took with it. I thought I was doing something wrong. My '93 Corolla doesn't do that.

My wife's '96 does; in fact it works exactly the same as the Tundra.

The cruise thing must be sporadic.

I know what you guys are talking about and mine has done the same thing.

However, last night I tried it after reading this thread yesterday and last night mine worked as designed.

Set my cruise at 75mph. Hit my brakes, slowed down to 65mph, then pushed up to RESUME, it worked.

Set my cruise at 75mph. Pulled back on the CANCEL button, slowed down to 65mph, the pushed up to RESUME, it worked.

Later in the evening, after I hit my brakes and came to a complete stop, then tried to push up to RESUME, it didn't.

None of the times did I actually turn the cruise off, the light was always on displaying in the dash.

Maybe it has a mind of its own.

I did discover something else though last night that bothered me, check out this thread and try it.

Default If I recall

It's purely speed / stop related. Tha cancel / resume works as you said. I believe the cut off for speed is around 20-25. Anything below that and the "memory" is gone

I thought it may have to do with speed, but didn't know for sure.

I mean I know for sure you can't set you cruise anywhere below 30 mph, but didn't really put the two together about dipping below that number then speeding up and pushing resume.
