Electrical & Computer SystemsDetails discussions regarding electrical components, wiring, all lighting, wire harnesses and HID conversion for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Battery isolator install help!!", within the Electrical & Computer Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I installed the NOCO Delcotron 140 amp isolator this weekend, everything is working fine now, I have my stock HD battery as the starting/main battery, and all of my aux. accessories being fed by my Optima yellow top. The install took me about 7 hours start to finish. You will see in the pictures that the only way I could mount the battery was to modify the hot air dam of my FIPK, but its OK, looks fine IMO. Eventually the air dam, air tube, throttle body cover, and fuse box cover will be painted in High heat yellow (probably this weekend) and it will all look much better, these pictures are before all of the wires were run which was the majority of the time. I also changed that cheap looking hold down that was in the picture, the new one looks much better!
edit:It would not let me add the pictures as attachments, it says the limit is 10mb, but it says that the limit for each file is 200kb, what gives?? Anyway the pictures are in my gallery and the Audio/Video gallery if you want to take a look.
