This is a discussion thread titled "Window Mod Proposal", within the Electrical & Computer Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me out... I just got a tint ticket the other day and it really pissed me off because my windows were down but I was pulled over for having blue bulbs and he made me roll up my windows after he pulled me over to see if I had tint and gave me another ticket for that. I was wondering if I could install a small switch under the dash or somewhere realativly hidden where I could disable rolling up of the windows. Basically exactly like the switch on the driver side that denys the passenger the right to roll up the window, but I would like it a little more hidden and I want it to disable both front windows from being functional...
just toggle the main power to the windows in the fuse box. just be sure to use an inline fuse to replace the one in the fuse panel.

I hate to say it but that is pretty low on the officers part IF in deed you had both windows down at the instant he first saw you.
On the other hand, if you saw him turn around in your rear-view mirror, then put your windows down to hide the tint, he suspected correctly.
I look at it almost like if he were to ask you how fast you can go, and you say the truck shuts off at 107 or whatever and he gives you a speeding ticket.
Window tint is not illegal no matter how dark if the vehicle is for off-road use, car shows etc. You used the vehicle for transportation and had your windows down due to the fact they are not street legal.
I would fight it if I knew the circumstances and it were me.
By the way, how dark are they? Any other serious give away mods that scream "PULL ME OVER?"
