Default Opinion Of Flashing LED of Viper Car Alarm in Car

I just had a Viper Alarm put in my Sequoia (by the way, Viper and Clifford alarms are basically the same as they are owned by the same company now).

They have this bright blue warning LED that flashes instead of the typical red ones. MAN OH MAN is this thing bright. Its mounted on a horizontal surface instead of the typical vertical surface.

If you look at my car from a distance, it looks like a strobe light is going off in my car. At first I thought this was a cool thing as it tells everyone my car is armed and its a good deterent. But upon further thought, I am thinking that maybe this draws too much attention to the car. It lights up the whole interior when its blinking (you dont have to be next to the car looking in to see it).

What is everyone's opinion of this?

If you think that its a bad thing, how can I tone this thing down? I will be tinting the front windows to a medium tint so I am hoping that will help.

With my windows tinted to match the rear and the LED mounted on top of the steering column, the LED is perfect. It's definitely visible from a distance, but doesn't attract too much attention. I say mount it in the spot I did and get tinted windows.

Here's an idea based on the painted red tail lights mod. You could put a drop or two of thinned down black Testor's model paint on the LED lens cover.

If thinned down enough, you could gradually build up black until it reaches the brightness you want.
