Default Newbie needs electrical help,,,,

Hey y'all....I've been enjoying the site for a few weeks now, and finally drove my new '05 Dbl cab home!
I was wanting to do the power outlet mod like I did on my Tacoma, and I found the relay set-up is different. It is also different than the ones described for the '04 Tundras. I have looked at the "how to's" posted here and either I am missing something, or my '05 IS different.
If anyone has done the power outlet mod on an '05, please help me out......

Thanx

Congrats on the '05 and Welcome to TS! Maybe NHParrot can lend a hand with this question.

Default Duh!

I am such a dork for not checking this first, but my outlets are already always hot! The cigarette lighter is not.

Too cool!

The '04 & '05 Double Cab Circuit utilizes what is known as an IPO or Intelligent Power Outlets. The '05 design allows the power outlets to stay hot, even when the ignition SW is at the OFF position, for up to 2 hrs providing the current draw is less then 6Ah.

I shared my thoughts on it in the thread 2005 Power Outlet Modification . If anyone does it, it would be a nice "Mod-of-the-Month"

Is there a way to make the power outlets in the 06 DC turn off with ignition? I don't want them running after I shut off the truck

I have another question about the power outlets (not the lighter outlet). Seems to blow a fuse often even though I don't use them much. Had blamed them on the wife a son for plugging bad chargers ect but they have not been using in the truck for a while. Other thing that makes me wounder is the fuse was blown when I got it home from the dealer new. Anyone had this problem? Are they just touchy when using them?
