Default Adding Keyless entry on my 2000 tundra

im trying to put a keyless entry in my tundra. it has power door locks, but not sure if it has factory keyless entry since i never recieved a key fob with car purchase. not sure if that would matter. i have the wire diagram as having unlock(-) = red/yellow, lock(-) = white/green, and child safety(-) = blue/black. i diode isolated the the unlock and child safety wires. the location is in the drivers door harness. where is that? behind the switch in the door?i followed the wires coming out of the door and down by the kickpanel. this is where i made my connection. after the connection i press the lock button and measure that the wire gets ground but the motors dont activate. What am i doing wrong?

Sorry I can't offer you any help, however I would like to do the same to my 01 that did not come with power locks. Did you buy a factory system or an aftermarket one? What was the cost? Keep us posted on how it is coming.

The brand of keyless that you are installing does it want the unlock & lock wires or the lock/unlock motor wires?

Mine came with power locks (I bought it used in Jan 03) but no openers as delivered to the original owner. I added a Toyota factory RS3000 VIP alarm kit that included the opener fobs, glass breakage sensor, etc. Bought it on ebay for a price I was satisfied with from a Toyota dealer. I wanted the alarm system and the openers were a bonus.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

It just has the unlock and lock wires that activate the relays( Only 250-500 ma). They should just tie into the switch. Maybe the relays need more than 250ma.
