Default temp gauge needle problem

Allright, it seems that when i get one problem fixed another comes right up. Maybe i should stop putting stuff on my truck, but i dont see that happening . I installed nu image white face gauges on my truck the other day and had everything back to normal. when i started up and and began driving around this morning, i noticed my temp gauge(bottom left hand gauge) wasnt moving as fast as it normally did, if at all. Then a few miles down the road it quickly shot up to the halfway mark where it normally sits at driving conditions. I checked the gauge and it seems nothing is obstructing its movement. It doesnt really bother me, but if i could get it fixed id like to. Like i said it does work, it just pops up after a few miles. Im going to check it again tonight after i get of work here and see if i bent the needle behind the gauge needle (if that makes any sense)or placed it out of allignment or something. Then again i dont think that would be the problem if it pops right back up after reaching normal heat. Thanks in advance for any input you guys have.

Jake

How did you check the clearance? The needle flange may be rubbing on the gauges if you put the new gauge faces over the stock ones and you pushed the needle down too far. Try to pull it up a smidge. I used a thin piece of sheet metal with a notch in it as a "feeler" gauge when I put mine back on to be sure it sat above the face. Other than that make sure the pin connectors are firmly in place behind the console.

The nu image gauges replace the original ones. As in i had to remove the black ones.your suposed to leave a little clearence over the gauges(with the circular nub the needle is attached to) when you push it down and i did it on all of the needles. so i doubt thats the problem. ill take the guauges out and check tonight though
