Default '02 Seat belt warning light disable

I've separated the connectors under the seat to disable the flashing light. Just wanted to double check that this conncector has nothing to do with the airbags.

i.e. If this sensor is not active does that also mean the airbags will not function?

I'm asuming toyota wouldn't want that kind of liability, but wanted to double check. thanks in advance.

By unpluging the connector under the drivers seat you are telling the truck that you have your seat belt on. If your like me and put it on after starting the truck and just want to stop the beep and blinker at start up or just take it off while sitting in a parking lot waiting for someone thats good. But if you are moving and run into something without the seatbelt on and the truck thinks you have it on you may be hurt big time! The seatbelt works with the airbags to hold you in position while they open. Think about it.

Anyone know if the airbags are disabled when the connectors are unplugged?

One more shot at getting an answer...

If nobody knows I'll probably just plug the connectors back in. Alot of poeple on this site have done this mod. I would think everyone would want to know the answer.

I do know for sure that all airbag related wiring MUST be wrapped in yellow loom and/or tape to differentiate it from standard vehicle wiring. That part being said, I am not sure if unplugging the connector from under the seat will disable the airbags, but a flashing light in the dash is a small price to pay to know for sure you HAVEN'T disabled the SRS system.
