    Default stock toyota alarm programming

hey i need some help programming my alarm. i have the stock toyota alarm on my 05 tacoma. it works thru the keyless entry that comes with all tacos. it is NOT the vip rs3200 system.

i was reading the manual and it says that the doors automatically lock when you turn the truck on, however mine is not doing this.

the manual shows the programming procedure for enabling/disabling the horn honking when locking/unlocking. i tried it and it worked, but i couldnt figure out how to enable the door locking.

if anyone knows how to do it id be very happy.

    nick

Where does it show how to enable to horn beeping? I want mine to beep. I even emailed Toyota and they said it wasn't possible. I read the manual through out (I thought) and didn't see anything about that. Let me know!

On my truck the doors automatically lock when the truck is started & automatically unlock when it is turned off. I don't have a factory alarm, just the stock immobilizer. I also haven't found in the manual where it tells about the horn honking.

I seem to remember a thread either on this forum or another where the moderator said the doors couldn't be programmed to lock when the truck is started unless you had the alarm installed. I don't have the alarm, but the doors do lock when I start the truck.

to be able to program the honking you need the alarm.
if you have the alarm you have a red led switch. turn key to on then off, then press the red led switch 6 times. if you turn honking on you will hear two honks i believe. when you turn it off you hear 1 honk i think

if you have the alarm you have a red led switch.

I have a red LED switch below my steering column, but I don't have the alarm.
