Default Auto Dim Mirror

Is the auto Dimming Mirrow worth the money? I have this feature in my BMW and it is great but is it needed in the TUNDRA. Does it have a compass or temperature as well?

The OEM auto-dim mirror has compas and temp read-out and works great. I hate the glare in the mirror and with this one you don't get the glare and you can actually see other objects like the other autos front end. No loss of night vision. Well worth the $$

I like mine just fine. There are two versions (you'd have to do a search). One has both compass and temperature simultaneously (sp?). That's what I have. The other cycles between the two (I believe-never seen one).

I often turn off the auto dimming function. Never really used it on any car unless a truck came right up behind me with it's lights shining directly at the mirror. Much less of a problem with the higher Tundra!

Mine came with the Donnelly auto-dimming mirror with compass and thermometer, and it works pretty good. My only gripe is that it needs to be a little wider. Another 3/4 inch or so on each side would make it perfect.

I have the Gentex mirror on board and like the features it provides. While the compass is rarely used, (do guys actually stop and ask for directions, or I can find my way, trust me?), I like the temp display and auto dim feature it provides. A nice option, overall.

I received my Gentex mirror in the mail from Carson Toyota a week and a half ago along with the OEM fog lights. I installed the fog lights this past Saturday but I'm kind of scared to try tackling the mirror installation. Anyone know where I can get clearer instructions to help with the install?

Talking Cool!

We just got a new Camry that has that mirror in it and I can't believe how well it works - it's definitely on my "wish" list for my Tundra!
