2005 Tacoma - INSTALLING RS3200 Plus

Part # 08586-04840. Anyone installed this themselves? Just had it delivered today. I had to download and print the installation manual (above link) myself as the box didn't have one. Everything else was there according to the kit contents from the self printed manual.

My question is if you have installed this yourself are there any helpful hints or snafu’s to watch out for. I do all sorts of installations myself including the TRD Supercharger and 7th Injector Kit on my 2000 4Runner. The Toyota manuals have been complete and sufficient thus far but I though I might tap into the knowledge out there.

The instruction is quite clear except on removal of some dash pieces. Read the orientation of taps/clips before you give it a good yank.

I installed RS3200+ and trailer wiring at the same time. It's a lot more diffcult than Tundra's RS3000+ and trailer wiring.

Thanks. I will be goving it a go within a week or so. I plan on a full day to do the install. Is that enough time?

I spent 2 or 3 weeknights and good part of Saturday afternoon and night for both installations.

Can't remember exactly how long (maybe 10-20 hrs) but I proceeded slowly and cautiously to avoid breaking any plastics.

Actually, I had trouble concentrating due to the heat and mosquitos.

For anyone wanting to put it in yourself.....It took me about 6 hours to do the install. It really is pretty much straight forward and the directions were great. Enjoy.

Hey, just bought a 2007 Tacoma. Like it so far. I am going to attempt to install the RS3200 Plus. It looks straightforward other then removing some of the panels (hidden clips).... If anyone has any tips... Thanks

Hey Mike, I have the keyless entry system already. Do you still need the full package for an alarm and the link provided doesn't work. I would like to see the installation manual before I proceed since I want to add a sensor wire to the rear hatch as well.

It references a faxback number. You can call the FujitsuTen manufacturer and ask for a manual, and they'll fax it back to you. Here's the post if you don't want to stray from TS.

I've been trying to reprogram the RS3200 Plus security system that's in the truck. (I just like to know what I can change and test out various configurations.) But, the truck comes with no manuals, so I've been using whatever I can find on web sites.

Last night, in looking for sources, I ran across the fax back service from the manufacturer, Fujitsu Ten. You can call them at 310-327-9905 and their system will fax to you the manuals you ask for.

You can only ask for one manual at a time, and the system says you're allowed to get just 4 per month sent to the same telephone number. The first time you call, you can request the list of all their guides.

Today, I got the owner's manual, installation guide, programming guide, and troubleshooting guide. Unfortunately, the instructions still don't work for making all the doors unlock with one click of the remote, but it's a lot more documentation than I had before.
