Default Glovebox light not working

Tried to change out glovebox bulb to blue LED and noticed bulb was not working. Replaced with blue LED and another factory bulb and still no light. Bought truck, 01 Tundra used and I do not remember the bulb ever working. What could be the problem?

I think you might find that you have to have the headlight switch on for it to work, at least on mind that's how it works.
