No I don't have any part numbers, they are not in the RS3000 install manual and the dealership won't give them out. Even so the Toyota parts guy was able to look up the LED part for the RS3000 and give me the price. If I get those numbers I'll post them here.

So far it looks like I'll just have to get by without the GBS, but for just $20 and some underdash work I can live with the now active RS3000 alarm even though its incomplete.

Someone who bought the upgrade or has the full RS3000 may be able to check. Most Toyota parts have the part number inscribed on them.

Default LED (status monitor) part number

I just ordered the LED from the local Toyota dealership. I don't have it yet, but the invoice lists the part number as 08192-06880 Status Monitor. Still no leads on the GBS.

Default security parts source

I don't know if this is what you have already found, but I buy a lot of parts from these guys. You can save shipping and tax.

Here is a link for Tundra security.
http://romaniatoyotaparts.com/secsysbrtuna.html

Here is another link for a GBS upgrade, but it may not be for your model alarm, check before buying please. I would call the help numbers and ask if they could get the parts you need.

Glass Break Sensor for 2001-current Sequoia

Hope this helps.

PS - A lot of Seq owners can't get their GBS to test correctly. The sensitivity is not high enough. After some experimentation, I had to mount my microphone in the A/C ductwork. The ducts funnel the sound to the mic. Now it works great.

Well, looks like the Japs gambled yet again and lost. Did they really think nobody would ever find out, let alone let the cat out of the bag on this??

Thumbs up Another Happy Customer

I happened on this thread by chance as I only seldomly visit the Audio/Video& Electronics section and was actually looking for something else. Well, I've got to say that this little mod has got to be one of the best bang for the (no) buck that I've seen and done. Many thanks to rllanes for posting the topic. Now if we can only figure out how to get the GBS for cheap....

I have received a lot of emails requesting the RS3000 Owner's Guide recently. The Guide is now available as a download from the Audio/Video & Security FAQ.

The downloadable guide is jpg images in a winzip form. The complete download is 2.12 MB.

My Tundra came from the Gulf States consortium, I though I read somewhere that the keyless remote on our trucks is different than the standard RS3000. Is that true, will these same mods work?

My 2002 came from Gulf States as well and the alarm conversion worked on mine just fine. Good luck.

I'm from the South Eastern ditatorship and I just installed the LED Status Monitor and plugged in the wiring harness (as per the upgrade instructions) and in about 30 minutes had a functioning alarm system (minus the Glass Break Sensor). Too easy and cost me about $20 plus tax for the Status Monitor.

I assume that the alarm hardware is a factory install and not a regional or dealship install. It comes with the keyless entry system. As long as you have the factory keyless entry (the remote pictured in the RS3000 instructions) I assume you can activate the alarm after this mod. I think the keyless entry came as part of my Convenience Package (power locks, windows) on my SR5 Tundra. I did notice something on the upgrade instructions that mentioned the Limited Tundra model so that may be a special case. I'll look at it again when I get home.

I don't know if it will work on the Sequoia, but if you have that RS3000 compatable keyless entry remote then it might. If I had that remote I would buy the status monitor LED, do the mod and try to activate it. In my mind it would be worth the $20 for the part and the half hour of labor just to find out. If it doesn't work then just put things back the way they were and then post your experience here.

From what information I have, I do not believe the RS3000 is used in the Sequoia.

Question newbie on RS 3000

Ok guys, I've read all your posts about activating the RS 3000 alarm system but I don't know what you guys are talking about. I have a 2002 Tundra, SR5, 4x4 w/ the keyless entry. I think it was called the VIP package. Does that mean I already have the RS 3000 alarm system and I have to join the garage section to get the directions? I don't mind doing it if thats all it takes. Thanks

Wink Correct!!

Yes, the alarm is already installed, but if you want the flashing led and glass breakage sensor, you will have to buy them. Some who have activated their alarm bought the led and/or glass breakage sensor(GBS) from Toyota(read all the posts on this subject), but I bought my led from Radio Shack ($2). I can live without the GBS. There is enough info here to hook up your alarm, without going to the garage section, but I would recommend it, as the programming instructions are also available in the garage & well worth it. Good Luck!!
