Perfect instructions joe
My first mod on my '06 AC 4x4
Fogs work w/ or w/o any other lights on and when high beams are on, they turn off when truck is turned off (no dead battery issues!). All other lights still use factory kill upon driver door opening.
wish I could say that for the guys with AC and DRL's, what a PITA to modify those! I can't even imagine what it is like to try to get inside or to the back side of the fuse/relay box.
Well, even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
Merry Christmas!
Joe

I'v been looking for about an hour now and cant seem to fine the correct foglight mod for an 05 dc w/drl's, everything is for w/o drl's. I suck at electrical so I need to have exact step by step directions...Please help...thanks!
All I have to say is I just got done installing Solid Wirings foglight mod kit, and it took me a whole 40 min. No cutting of wires or splicing anything and no guessing witch wire to cut. I highly reccomend this kit if you want to keep your truck clean.
Where did you get that foglight mod kit from it sounds interesting and easier than the others. One question though will it work for a 2004 Tundra w/o DRLs?Thanks in advance
Wow, some guy is making a few bucks by selling a foglight modifcation "kit"? First I heard of that. I hope it doesn't cost too much for an '06, because it is dang simple. And who cares if it is "clean"...you do it right once, wrap it all back up and never see it again for the life of the truck?
to reply to a previous post, I don't have time this minute to look up an '04 wiring diagram to see if it is the same as an '06...the '06 mod was crazy easy without DRLs. If you have the DRLs, it gets over my head pretty quick. I really don't know how to read some of the wiring diagrams, but I did figure out the 06 pretty easy. It gets crazy when you try the '06 mod on some other years or with DRLs or even the double cabs, it just doesn't even come close to working. If you are interested in getting whatever help I might provide, recognizing my limitations, PM me and I'll tell you if I can help you or not. WHY it is so different with DRLs or especially the Double cab, I'll never know. It doesn't make sense to use a completely different wiring diagram/scheme if the truck is an extended cab or double cab!!

I just did this mod on my 05 access cab w/o drl's. I sort of combined both methods described earlier. I tapped into and ran a wire from the green wire at the dimmer switch to the red/yellow wire at the column. It works perfectly. The fogs come on with the switch only when the parking lights are on. Another advantage is you retain the auto off feature. Hope this helps.
