if it feels like a throttle problem, i would be willing to bet that there's something up with the wiring to the throttle position sensor...(that was what i eventually figured out on my own, years later, after the dealership had replaced a few parts and the problem never ceased). hope that helps

Here's the latest...

After hearing good things about Seafoam, I decieded to try it. While it was smoking out, I thought about what better time to see if there is an exhaust leak that I can't hear or see. Sure enough, there was. On top of the cat where the the downtube from the header flange was welded to it...

So I fixed it as you can see in the pic next to it. (sorry for the link. I don't know how to put the pic in the post all pro like.)

Well drove it....still there.

So now here is my new theory, and I might start another thread with this topic.
I have Downey headers and the bank 1 O2 sensor has this funky bung on it (no pun). It is not in the flow at all, and looks totally inefficient. There are some pics here...

Look at the other pics there and you can see the bank 2 side (drivers) that is still attached is in the flow. Did Downey do this so they didn't make you extend the wire???? sweet! Thanks! Is this my whole problem?
Put it on the computer and checked all the O2's and fuel trim. But nothing seems to be that different between either bank. Except fuel trim is higher on bank 1. I am debating putting the Jetchip back in to see if it helps. Still haven't checked fuel pressure yet, just seems like that would do it in open loop too. And I know my pump/filter are ok. Going to do the FPR as well.
Thoughts people, please!

Well, stupid me. Bank 1 is drivers side...there goes that idea. Back to the drawing board.
Someone told me that and I never double checked it like an idiot.

Well I did the FPR as stated in the solving of this problem Acceleration problem 2001 tundra
to no avail. I am wondering if I should try the fuel damper for another $100. I am just so sick of tracking this down, I'm almost to the point of geting anew one for 0% APR!
