I like the idea of stroking the 4.7L but... 99% of us do not need the strongest most exotic crank, rods and pistons available. Most of us are just looking for more torque and hp from 0 to 4500 rpms. It sure looks sweet though don't get me wrong. How about a 5.6 stroker kit with just a regular forged steel crank, comparable to oem quality, using good quality steel rods, maybe comparable to the early Lexus LS 400 OEM rods. And finally a set of good quality o/s pistons. Show some good results on a dyno, make it a kit and price it between $2000-$3000 and you will sell a few. At $7800 you won't sell many. For that kind of cash you could build a turbo system and make more torque and hp than the stroked motor anyway.

I've sold a number of these so far, however it should be said that I deal with the MKIV Supra more than any other model. Making a so-so kit isn't really my thing, so maybe someone else could step up.

Thanks man,

Eric

Yeah I've been following your build , its awesome, Barron__ does have a point though Eric.

If you were to sell to the Tundra croud for say even $2000-3000 less on certain stroker kits I think more than a few would be buying your package "Deal". Its up to you though. You are the one dealing the cards. I think we are all waiting till the house gives in. And lowers the price just a wee' bit.

Since you have sold a few. Do you keep in touch with people that have purchased the stroker kit and finding out what HP and TQ increases they have achieved ? Off just the stroker kits alone as is, not TT'ed or single turbo'ed such as others and yourself are doing.

Advertising is everything. Don't you have any numbers from anyone? Pass em' on if you do.

I totally know who you are talking about, maybe. Lextreme is workin' on his 5.2L stroker kits for the 2uz-fe (Tundra motor)

I know how you just love that guy.

Its no decade though.

Yeah, we don't see eye to eye for a few various reasons. About his stroker kit, ehhhh, it's a cut crank meaning that they grind off the backside of the journals and weld up some area to the front. The crank needs to be rehardend since welding anneals the crank material making it very soft. Basically the same as Titan's "poorboy" stroker (not making that name up), except that it's from David Phan and not Nero and Bottle. 6 to 5 and pick 'em.

The strokers that I've sold go to motors that I build in house here, and we're just about finished with the 5.4L. All are going with twin turbos, usually large twins like 72mm's. No one that I know of ever wants just the stroker unless they have class requirements.

Thanks man,

Eric
