Default 2wd to 4wd conversion

I was wondering if there was a kit or something to make a 2000 2wd Tundra SR5 into a 4WD? thanks

Not really. You would have to piece it together.

You are better off doing a trade in for the 4x

You shouldn't even attempt that. I don't know why you'd want to...it would cost more than trading yours for a 4x4, and would probably never "be right". Bad idea.

At the risk of sounding like a complete dumbass....
What would be so hard about converting a 2WD Tundra to a 4WD? The front end suspensions are the same and the two apparently use the same breaks. All you'ed need are the parts and they should bolt right in...right? I suppose if you wanted it pretty you'ed have to buy a mildly wrecked 4WD tundra and take the centre dash area and transfer it over and use some of the parts from the engine but if it cost less than 4Gs then I'ed be open to do it...if I had 4gs to spend on my truck right now...Trading...I'ed probably lose 6gs now anyway because I paid 18k two years ago and my trucks worth 14k private party...who knows what a dealer would give me. In this case I think it would be more economical to convert to 4wd...right?

we were just talking about this...go check the other thread, i posted some parts notes and stuff. there isn't too much to it, but yes you would need to find a slightly scuffed tundra, like one of the ones that occasionally get dropped off the loading dock or fall off the back of the transporter or something. check with nix99.com, they occasionally get stuff like that. the 2wd and 4wd tundras have the same config up front, one is just missing a lot of parts.
