Default Eng Timing

I have a 07-2.7' Does any one know why the engine timing will fall of so much when you load the eng? I have a scan gauge II is how i no, It maybe to keep it from pinging i don't know. the truck has good power far a 4cyd at high rpm, but no low end. I have a AT trand and that is sone of it.__LIMITED
