Question Turbo XL Muffler Directional?

Alright so this may sound like a stupid quetion but is the borla XL muffler reversible, could i use it as a dual in-single out instead of the single in- dual out?

Reason I ask is because my brother is giving me his that is currently on his tacoma and i'm wanting to install it on my Tundra and I've read a couple people say it could be used either way and others say no way..could anyone please clear this up for me

Heres the link to the borla site.

If this helps at all, I did what you are asking with the same style of muffler but with a Walker Ultraflow type. I asked a rep and was told that directional mufflers are marked with "inlet" and "outlet" and I assume most manufacturers would use the same convention. I used it as a 2 input/ single output one like you are describing. I have been using it for a few years now and it seems to work very well. It does not cause excessive backpressure and sounds great, lots of compliments.

Additional: I just looked at your link and from the internal 'Y' design, there should be no problem at all with the Borla ( actually better than what I have !, may have to change.)

It's a non-directional muffler.

Red face Re: Turbo XL Muffler Directional?

yea after having it removed from the truck today, there was no arrows and when looking in it is just a 'Y'..although it wasnt the turbo xl as i thought it was, it is a ProXS seems to have the same dimisions as the turbo xl according to the borla site..but it looks a little small in size compared to the stock one on the Tundra, would this make it rediculously louder?

here is the actual muffler i have BORLA Pro XS - Mufflers
its the dual 2 1/2" - 3"
