Default Best way to attach underhood sound deadener?

Hey,
I am wanting to add some underhood sound deadener like this stuff. Anybody know the best way to attach it under the hood so it won't fall off? Does anybody know what those little black plastic things that look like some sort of fastener are in the picture on that page? Thanks for the help.

Oh, do you think there are any cons to doing something like this?

I used Dynamat Hoodliner on the hood of my other car. There is an adhesive backing on it. I recommend that you get their roller, it make is much easier to install. The black plastic clips look like the one on my Volvo which keeps the factory hoodliner/fire blanket in. Never had any problems with the hoodliner and there was a noticeable sound deadening.

I would think it would have to increase the engine temperature, whether it would increase enough to really make a difference or not is the question.

Look at any Lexus LS400, V8 Land Cruiser, or the new V8 4Runner -- they all have hood blankets from the factory (the Lexus cars and Land Cruisers also get a nifty plastic engine shroud over the engine to further muffle valvetrain and injector noise). Most domestics also have them stock.

Yes, it makes a noticeable difference in reducing engine noise. Although the iForce is so quiet at high RPM, they probably decided it wasn't "necessary" in the Tundra. Case in point: all the domestic trucks have them and even so the Tundra V8 is MUCH quieter at high-rpm than ANY of them.

A while back I checked at the dealer and the Land Cruiser hood blanket is around $200 retail!

Wow, that is steep. Do you think that the JC Whitney suff in the link would work ok? Do you think the spray stuff that they list at the bottom of the page would work well to attach it under the hood? Thanks.
