Have you thought about putting a clutch on it? IE, you could turn it off if not needed? I know that the people that put this on their truck would rarely turn it off, but say for extended idling or extended low speed off roading. Volvo uses this idea on my boat engines. They have superchargers on clutches, and turbos on the same engine. They are KAD43s.

This supercharger does have a clutch--it is a centrifugal clutch which engages above 1200 rpm. This means that at idle and any speed where the motor is turning less than 1200 rpm the supercharger is not rotating.
There is also a bypass valve in the system that is open any time the motor is in vacuum. This is any time that a light throttle is being used or at any time you are cruising on the highway. The bypass valve cycles the boost back to the blower intake side so that there is no pumping loss --all the motor is doing is spinning the blower just like the AC pump when the AC is not turned on. As soon as the pedal is depressed the bypass shuts ,boost is directed into the motor and the fun begins.

Hey Rob,

Been busy with work and catching up with TS only to see you are back. Nice to see you got around the previous issue and now have a Gen3 unit on board. Have you completed the dyno test yet and when do you think this unit will be available for the folks that want to play?????

How are you tuning the computer with no tuner on the market? Sorry to say but you'll never get it running right without a tuner to update the computer with individual modifications specific to each vehicle.
