Question 1996 Camry I4: Check Engine Light

Hey guys. New to the forums, but definitely not new to car repair. So I recently purchased a 1996 Camry LE (4 cyl). Great car, love it, and one of the peppiest 4 cyl cars I've driven. However, the check engine has came on, for seemingly no reason. The car behaves just as it does normally, and I haven't seen any problems. Anyways, what are the first steps I should take to diagnose the problem? Thanks!

Find out what the codes are. The OBD connector is located behind the coin holder compartment on the left side of the steering wheel. Just remove the door and it is right there. Go to an auto parts store that will read the code for free. When you get the codes post them back here and someone can hopefully help you.

get the codes read because something is marginal and it's probably affecting your fuel economy
