Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "TRD Supercharger ECU availability?", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have bought a TRD supercharger kit to suit a 2003 Tundra, but will be fitting it to my 1999 LX470.
I will need to buy a new TRD ECU to suit, does anyone know the part number, and list price?
Also, does anyone want to buy my new 2003 Tundra ECU?
hi, my suggestion is for you to contact TRD directly.
toyota tends to change there ecu units and all there codes each and every year, so the aftermarket won't get a handle on thing's.
i know several people bought there trd superchargers on ebay. and or sold them there.
many of the buyers , were pretty P O'ed, due to the fact they didn't work with there ECU unit.
i'm not saying that ,thats your case, because i don't know for sure.
but if i was to guess, your out of luck.
as far as a unichip, you would also need to contact them directly, call them & speak with jack as to any question you might have.
you didn't make it clear if you want 1, or are selling 1. and they are pretty much model and year specific to.
anyhow, good luck,
gorilla
I'm looking for one myself too. I've had give trd a call and they don't know I can get one. I purchase one about a year and half ago by web search and forgot where I purchase from. Part # 00602-17620-455. The landcruiser, lx470, and sequoia all use the same supercharger ecu. Good luck to you and if you find one, please let me know. If I'll find one, I'll let you know too. trb595@sbcglobal.net
I've found that unichip (the one made for trd supercharger ) would work for replacing the orginal trd supercharger ecu. The cost is much more $780 at autoanything.com plus 2.5 hours of local tuner ($250 an hour) which the trd ecu cost me just over $300 couple year ago. It worth it for me than removing the supercharger, loose the power I've had on my lx470 that I'm used too. I found one trd Good Luck
I couldn't find a thread that answered this, so i figure i'll throw it out here:
What size serpentine belt does the V8 tundra with supercharger need? I've seen several people ask about it, but i haven't seen any concrete answers. Sorry if this is a little off topic, but it seems like the people posting on this thread might be the ones to know.
Thanks!
Marcus
Tundra trucks use a 2700mm(106.3 inches) long, 6-
rib belt (00602-17141-441). 4Runner, Land Cruiser,
LX470 and Sequoia SUV’s use a 2630mm(103.5 inches) long, 6-
rib belt (00602-17620-433).
These numbers have probably been superseded, but this information is from the original installation instructions.
