92 Lexus tranny issues

My buddy has a 92 Lexus ,and Im assuming its the ES250.
Not sure.

Anyway he says it will go in reverse fine ,but will not go foward.
Does that mean he needs a new tranny or is it possibly a shift solenoid?

The car sat for about a month ,but it was fine before sitting.
He says trans fluid is full.
