Default Transfer case 4wd Actuator

How much is it for a new 4wd Actuator for the the transfer case in my 01 Tundra? Ive needed to replace it for sometime now because everytime i want to use 4wd i have crawl under my truck and bang the actuator a few times to get it to work.

Is the actuator on the Transfer case the same as the actuator on the front differential?

Don't know? when I searched the only actuator spoken of is on the diff.
Call your dealer and ask get a part number, then shop around.

The only actuator I know of between the diff and xfer case is on the front diff. Here's a couple of pics of both the front diff and xfer case, what are you actually hitting?

Im hitting the actuator on the transfer case. Idk if my year specifically (01) is the only one to have an actuator on both the transfer case and the front differential because i looked under a tundra last night that i assumed to be around an 02 or 03 and it did not have an actuator on the transfer case like mine does. When i try to put my truck in 4wd nothing happens but when i tap the actuator a few times you can hear it engage and then everything works properly after that. In the illustration of the transfer case you have it is showing a tundra with a manual Transfer case.

Transfer case for a manual or automatic is the same housing wise. Let me provide another pic of all the components for a MT and an AT. Also, the manual covers tundras from 00-03 and I do not see an ADD actuator on the xfer case.

Here's the pics.

Could it possibly be a loose wire/connection? I'm thinking your issues could be related to the 4wd position switch.

i have and 04 tundra and am having the same problem. but mine wont engage at all, even when i tap on it. i don't think it is the position switch though because when it is engaged i can hear the front diff actuator lock in but not the transfer case actuator. i've been told that some times the actuator just needs to be pulled off and cleaned, but i haven't gotten a chance to do that yet.
