Re: How many want to try a Hydrogen converter on their Tundras?
There is a way to extract hydrogen from water using the truck's alternator for power. The oil companies are trying to limit the exposure of this technology for the same reasons the stopped other promising alternatives. If you don't believe this well I don't hold out much hope for you. In the 60's Chrysler had a carburator that gave 60 miles per gallon in their big Polara model car. It was conficated when the new owner of the car informed them of it's fantastic milage. This was in 1964. I know of this because my brother sold this guy a life insurance policy before he turned the car in to the Chrysler dealer in town. The oil companies have these patents in their archives. They will never be put into production. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: How many want to try a Hydrogen converter on their Tundras?
If anyone wants to pony up the money for one of these hydrogen systems and will pay to install it on my Tundra I will be glad to use it and report back my findings.
Re: How many want to try a Hydrogen converter on their Tundras?
Stan Meyer's patents ran out in 2007. That's why you see a lot of talk on this subject surfacing recently. While pure electrolysis is just converting electrical energy into hho and heat, mixing the hho with gasoline does give more effective combustion of the gasoline itself compared to just mixing the gasoline with air alone. Most of these claimed mileage gains are achieved by leaning out the engine to the point of excessive EGTs and risking burnt valves and/or pistons.

Re: How many want to try a Hydrogen converter on their Tundras?
does anyone know what kind of amperage these systems draw? most stock vehicles are capable of putting out full power from their alt between 1,500 and 2,000 rpm. but it is very very rare to ever use the full output of the alternator. i know in my old competition SPL vehicles, i didn't notice a MPG decrease from the added draw of the 3+ kwatt system. but i did notice a decrease from the 500+ lbs in the trunk. and yes i can qualify that because even when i didn't have my sub amps hooked up, the MPG stayed the same. if these systems only draw a reasonable amount of current, the current draw will not cause any noticeable decrease in gas mileage or acceleration. so it is as close to free energy as we can get from our vehicles.

I have been addicted to this hho thing for 2-3 weeks reading everything I can find. Yes I do plan on building and testing hydox device. Still learning, but when the time is right, it will be installed on my 2008 5.7

...and aliens live under the desert in arizona.
everybody's brother's wife's friend's sister's husband's uncle's father's dog's buddy's owner has heard of a guy's friend's girlfriend's mechanic's insurance agent who has one of these and is saving tons of money. with all this talk there are still no pictures, specs, and results posted. it's so cheap and easy and all these internet armchair chemists and engineers are sure it will work, so DO IT, take some pictures, test it with some reasonable control, and post up already. geez.

I made a simple 3 cell for my 04 3500 4x4 diesel dually. So far only 150 miles of testing, with 4 mpg improvement on the computer. Will continue testing with hand calculations. Maybe down the road i will put one on the Tundra, standard cab long bed 5.7 towing package, I love this truck,

Profit and water...aquafina water costs more per 16 fl oz than gasoline.

Wouldn't the fuel injection system adjust and dump more gas in the engine to fix the problem? Isn't this what engines are having to do with the gas formulated in CA anyway?
Re: How many want to try a Hydrogen converter on their Tundras?
I would like to give it a trial. The canister may not provide enough to run at power but may at idle and would still provide a supplement to gasoline at power thus increasing economy. The HHO creators at Aquygen plan to release an automotive version in 2009. Their 2 prototypes had carbs not fuel injection so the 2009 version is supposed to be for EFI engines.
Re: How many want to try a Hydrogen converter on their Tundras?
Total BS. Snake Oil. Even if you could get it to work, like joshp said the computer will adjust and make the same power and use the same amount of fuel. ask late model corvette owners. performance mods are counter acted by the computers calculations of fuel air ratios. now if you reprogrammed maybe you could see some small gains but you cant make a 4.7 liter v-8 push a 5,000 plus pound truck around at freeway speeds at prius like gas mileage. Its a truck. the mileage sucks. Deal.

Dasani and Poland make a profit selling water every day!
