What's wrong with factory filters (besides being boring because they're painted dull black)? Factory filters took this Tacoma owner to 957,000 miles http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...ertech/957.jpg

Factory filters have also kept my 471,464 mile Toyota pickup running so well it recently passed a tough California smog test by a wide margin on it's factory original catalytic converter.

Limited-

I have been using Pure One's for as long as I can remember, on a 4Runner, a Sequoia, 2 Corollas, 1 Nissan 240sx, and a boat. Using a Pure One in conjunction with any quality oil, changed at proper intervals, and your enthusiasm for your vehicle will wear out long before the engine does.

(K.R.- Your truck has been at 471,000 miles since at least June '07. Do you even drive it anymore?)

It had a low warm engine idle problem so I stopped driving it in '07 until I located the cause (deposits in a passage that led to the air control valve) recently and fixed it. Then I went to the smog shop and passed by a big margin http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...rtech/smog.jpg despite the fact the catalytic converter is 471,464 miles old. So I'll be racking up the miles on it fast now.

PureOne and Wix are my personal choice of filters.
I have PureOne on my Highlander + Mobil1 engine oil (for a change I switched from PP to M1 to just see how well it holds, no regrets so far).

I say so long as you don't use the cheap $3 deals, you ought to be find. If you change your oil and filter w/ regularity, any decent filter, puro/pure1 or M1, would be fine. IMHO

What about the TRD filter?

I'm probably gonna get the M1 since I'm gonna use the synthetic oil.

Any thoughts? Thanks.....
