Default Transmission fill 2003

Does anyone know where the automatic transmission fluid should be filled at on a 2003 V8? I can easily see the dipstick but can't find a cap or anything.

Thanks
Chris

Down the trans dipstick tube with a long skinny-a$$ed funnel.

Question: Are you adding trans fluid already to a new tundra or changing fluid? Hope your not having to add.

No problems, I was investigating switching to synthetic but I read in the manual and in a thread on this forum to only use the Toyota T IV atf.

Thanks
Chris

Default Fluid

You can go out and have lunch for the time it takes to fill that transmssion through that weenie filler tube. Don't recommend synthetic because it doesn't let you know if you're abusing the transmission. Synthetic's are great in everything else. I use it in my Diff and engine. Don't forget to change that fluid every twenty or so thousand miles. Only the four quart change is necessary if not discolored. That transmission can out originally as a A40 and has been modified since to a four speed and electronics. I think it's alittle soft on the size but, so far it's been holding up pretty good.

I think that synthetic ATF will add to the life of a transmission. I don't understand the part about it hiding abuse of the tranny--the driver knows!

Of course, if you have the 2003, your only synthetic options are a) Ask Amsoil if their ATF is OK, or b) use synthetic Dexron III and add Lubegard's black bottle additive and let us know if it works.

Ken/All:

From Amsoil regarding Toyota ATF:

Transmission Fluid type T-IV is a proprietary Toyota fluid. There is no AMSOIL equivalent.
