Default tranny on 1990 camry not shifting as it should

looking for those who might have had this issue before. I just replaced the front struts on my 1990 camry. the originals i guess the guy did not notice the difference. so i dropped them out and the front splindle assm. dropped down and out of the way. replaced the strut and everything went back together as it should every thing tight and nothing was disconnected from the tranny wires or fluid lines. after this the transmission is not actting right. when i come to an intersection and let tranny down shift and accelerate the foot is to the floor and the engine is straining like a cloged
converter. then the engine revs like it should and the tranny will shift up and down while maintaining speed.
i am perplexed i can not see how in the world the two are related. just Coincidence? i was wondering if when i dropped the spindle if it pulled out of the tranny and did not seat back in and that is causing the issue.

i need the brain trust of the forum to chime in
thanx in advance.

here is an up date some how and i do not how it has happened and i will not ask.
it is running as it should. smooth shifts at the right time. i must have had some thing in the fuel line break loose. i did change the fuel filter as soon as got it so no telling. oh well it works and i is a happy guy>>>
