Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "mystery washer", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Can anyone identify this washer? I found it in the pan that I drain the oil into and thought it might be the drain plug washer, but it doesn't look like the correct size. Also, I checked and it appears that I am not missing that washer. It's possible that this could have been from a previous vehicle.

Looks like the drain plug washer to me or at least a part of it. Pretty sure my original dran plug washer had that look to it before I switched to fiber ones. If it doesn't leak around the drain plug now just keep it for the next time and see if the current one may have split.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

I figured it out. It's a washer for the drain plug on the rear differential.
